There were so many things in London I wanted to leave behind like terrible friendships, love affairs, awful memories, dreadful weather etc that when I had the opportunity to move to USA I just grabbed it like a drowning man grabs a liferaft.

It was nice to hear about why you decided to become an expat, and I agree, there are so many resources now. I think my move would have been much easier if I was blogging back then, but I’m grateful for the expat group I found in Scotland. It made life much easier.

I guess the thought-process for me is: If I can’t feel at home or fit in in either for “my” countries, then find a completely different one and make a home there… It’s hard to explain.
