I love your song choices. I especially love the Civil Wars cover of ~Dance Me to the End of Love~ It is perfect. I laughed when I read about you humming “La Vie en Rose” while you were in Paris. I found myself doing this as well and when I mentioned it to my husband and my in-laws (singing a few bars enthusiastically of course) they thought I was off my rocker and such a quirky girl… We are kindred spirits. I would love to do a poll of how many people have the spirit of Edith Piaf visit them while strolling around Paris and hum her song. Surely we can’t be the only two… I never tire of hearing it either.

Yes ma’am with the Leonard Cohen and Civil Wars song. I work at an innercity school. One day a kid started singing Hallelujah. I mean he was waving his arms and gettin’ into with no music I looked at him funny (usually these kids don’t have dierse experiences and their song kowledge is liminted)He looks at me and goes, “What that song go hard Ms. Aleshea” This song made me think of that.

I love thinking about all the music that has significance in my life – I sent all my CD’s to the US in preparation for the move and they all mysteriously disappeared from the box of stuff. I was upset, but it gives me an excuse to buy them when I am over there!
