So right, they work out and in the end that is what matters. I hope there are lots of people working for us so we get our passports back soon! I look forward to traveling again. x

Oh yes. Not glad that you also went through that but yes it is now like we are trying to find our footing. At least come Christmas we will have been in our current city for a year. :)

I totally agree with what you say about being positive - there is so much stress and this is difficult to do, however things have a funny way of working out! I feel you have to remember people aren't always necessarily against you in immigration, and that there are people who are also working for you!

Wow it's funny as I would never imagine the UK throwing up some of the same issues in France - with leases and guarantors - but it's just harder anywhere when you're 'a foreigner' and I imagine travelling isn't as easy as just picking up a cheap easyjet flight and popping away whenever you fancy when you've got a family. I love seeing the travels you do in Wales though. It looks beautiful.

Oh wow, it sounds like you had a similar journey to the one I had. I was a British citizen too, I thought it would be easy! But renting without credit or a guarantor; not being able to provide proof of address for a bank account; and being made to leave each of our first two houses after a year as the owners needed to move back into them! We found moving here financially crippling but I think we're almost back on our feet!

These are great questions this month & your answers are great, Bonnie. I hated dealing with all the visas and paperwork and it's certainly something I'd remind my pre-expat self of before I made the move. Thankfully it's all coming to an end in 2014 with my Citizenship application!
