Let Go and Let Be

ACR_letgoletlive

As we move into our weekend I want to pass on some motivational words to set you free.

For the person who has learned to let go and let be,
nothing can ever get in their way again.
– Meister Eckhart

It is an authentic way of living | To be true to yourself and keep close what matters most. There are things we cannot force. Things we cannot change. While you can influence others with the beauty of spirit, you cannot control how they will respond to you.  You have the power to choose how you react to situations and the words and actions of others.  As an adult you gain the right to be assertive and in control of your emotions and your life.

Through crawling out of the darkest depths of my life I have learned you have to be your biggest cheerleader.  To be okay when it is ‘just you’.  Even if you are alone in your views you do not have to feel alone or less of self.  Be proud of who you are and the life you live.

I used to let people make me feel like I was worthless. That I was not worth happiness or beauty in the world.  They would say I was not good enough.  They would tell me I did things wrong or that my work did not live up to their expectations.  I used to worry so much about the things I heard behind my back until finally it all broke me.  In time and through meditation, prayer, and release of my own thoughts I was able to mend my spirit and become stronger than ever before.  To learn to let go and just let be. Those that bullied and said hateful words may never change their motives by never healing what is broken in their own lives from their past.  However, I stand here to say that I have never felt as happy or as content in life than I do now because of these four words.  When you know what matters most in your life and you find happiness from it, nothing else really matters.  Let your love and spirit shine for this life of ours is far too short. When the end is inevitable does any of the stresses put on by others really matter?  Let go and let be.

May the words encourage you and change your perspective on life.

The challenge | This weekend I challenge you to let go of whatever has been holding you down.  Breath out that next breath as an adult ready to live your life in the power of confidence.

Q: How do you halt the effect of other’s negative words and actions from affecting your life?

Brilliant post. I was bullied by a group of girls at high school and I went from happy to sad, introverted, lacking confidence, grades suffered….. I didn’t really shake that off until my mid-20’s. Now, in my late 30’s, I’m a wife and mum, I have to be strong. When I read in the media of bullying incidents, I do think back to high school and get sad or cross still. It’s annoying that bullying can still effect me this many years on. It doesn’t do me any good to focus on this so I try to put it to the back of my mind. I just think ‘karma’ and try and let it go. x

I feel for our kids and future generations when it comes to being bullied online because it is now harder to escape. I have had my share of it in person and online through my twenties. 99% of the time those with the hurtful words and actions have their own personal stuff going on in their life. While it does not excuse them of it, not will it promise an apology when they come out of it, I have found it easier to ‘let it go’. People are so quick to react and become defensive and project their own stresses on others. I’ve learned through repetition with these kind of people that its better to just be nice and focus my energy on those who matter in my life. Sadly you can not force people to ‘hear’ you so even trying to communicate with them because ineffective. Thank you for sharing Louisa, bullying is not a fun subject, especially as parents when we just want to protect our babies.

      Karma. I believe in it.

Love this! I have trouble doing this a lot, especially when it comes to other people. Still learning how to tune others out and just go about my own business. Because, when it comes down to it, we’re the people that know best :)

Thank you for sharing this Bonnie. It can really make a difference in someone’s life :). I too was bullied in the past and for a long time it changed who I really am. I tried to blend in and be unnoticed all through high school until I finally realised they don’t control me nor define me, I do.

Later on through meditation I was able to let go even more and now I just am. I’m me and it’s OK to not live up to society’s expectations and things “you have to do or be in life”.

We are all wonderful, beautiful and fantastic in our own way. Embrace yourself and live your life the way you want to, only you can control that.
