Super Blood Moon Eclipse

BRP_superbloodmooneclipse2

This was the Super Blood Moon during its orange blood moon stage as viewed from Batheaston, England near Solsbury Hill.  I took this with a Nikon DSLR with a 300m lens.  These images are straight out of my camera with out any editing whatsoever.

This was before the Moon turned into its Blood Moon phase.

This was after the Blood Moon during the eclipse, to which I finally fell asleep to get two hours of sleep in before getting up for work.  It was so beautiful. We could see it from our bed so I fell asleep cuddled up on my husband’s chest watching the moon as I drifted off to sleep.

Q: Did you get to see it from your part of the world? How did it look? Get any photos?

You were so lucky to see it! Unfortunately, the sky was all covered with clouds where I live. However, in a nearby town they could watch it. So, no, I haven’t seen it myself. Next chance in eighteen years, if I remember correctly :)

  • Andrea On Vacation

We had a cloudy night so I never saw it. Bummer!

Sadly we didn’t see it in Australia but we have had some stunning full moons this year. Someone told me that the moon is closer to earth now than it has been for many years and I can believe it. The full moons have been huge at times.

Those shots are amazing! We didn’t get to see the eclipse because of the time zone and then there was cloud cover, but it peeked through for a little bit! It looked absolutely huge!

Lucky you for seeing them! It was cloudy where I live (not that I would have made it out of bed but anyway….). Great shots!!

Fantastic photos! I completely forgot about it- was snuggled up in bed when hubby remembered (and I didn’t feel like getting out of bed!). It was pretty foggy here in Melbourne so I doubt we could’ve seen much.

So so jealous that you got these pictures!!! They are amazing! I saw a little bit of the eclipse, but it was pretty overcast where I was in Salt Lake City. I also don’t have a lens that would be able to capture it this way! Thanks for sharing though, these are some of the best pictures I’ve seen!

I saw it, and it looked awesome! I didn’t even know it was happening that night until my friend texted me and lo and behold, as soon as I walked out, it was there ^_^

I didn’t realize this was even happening until it was over. I should probably stay more on top of these things. Your pictures look great!
