When you enter Ronan’s room this is what you see first. I have a shelving unit for clothes straight ahead. I put his pooh lamp and baskets for storage on it. I still need to hang up his pooh height chart, right now its hanging on the shelf. His pooh rug is on the floor next to his stereo. On the wall I have placed three photo frames. Two are of Ronan and I. The middle frame holds a colouring book photo I coloured. It is Roo and his mom with a cute mother and son quote. The glider is in the corner with the hand made blanket his G.G. Dovie made him and his boppy. On the wall behind the glider (next to the window) i am going to put up the huge coloured poster that the design from the blanket came from. Once I find where I saw it last, our hang it up. I am also going to put our mosquito net (from the bedroom) above the glider. I saw a picture like that, and it makes a cool effect around a chair. What a “magical” place for bedtime stories! Posted by Picasa

Here is the main area of the room. Starting from the right, we have his laundry basket and his diaper genie. Then you have his bed. Next to the wall I have placed two shelving units, a small red one one wheels and a tall chrome one. I haven’t unpacked his things yet so I do not know what I will put on them yet. So far it is holding several pooh toys and his sports equiptment. Under his window we have my old toy box with stuffed animals, his singing pooh lamp, and then the glider.  Posted by Picasa

…and on this wall I have placed two professional shots of Ronan. One is his 1 month old photo and the other is his 3 month old photo. More to come. That goes for the room as well. On the back of the door is the temporary home for the two organizers from IKEA. I need to get a ladder to hang hooks from the ceiling to hold them. Not sure where I want to hang them in the room yet. Posted by Picasa

Sunny-day!

We got to church just five minutes late today…Which is doing really good. Hopefully next week we will be there right at 1000. The singing was excellent! We actually sang a song we had just heard on the radio on our way there! Ryan and I have found a great Christian radio station. Compared to klove, I think its 99.9 % better. The music is commercial free, always something new, and isn’t the “mom and pop Christian music”. Its much like the music TV station, TVU, on SkyAngel.

Ronan made it all the way to the sermon. We then went to the nursery so he could eat. I tried putting him down to sleep in the crib, but he just kept bumping his head and arms on the wooden bars (the reason why we use his pack and play). The sermon was awesome, and I am so glad that I can hear it from the nursery. When we came back into the auditorium, it was the last song. Ronan started kicking his legs furiously and flapping his arms like a bird. He LOVED the music! You should have seen him in Ryan’s arms…He kept trying to clap his hands and he would kick his legs with the beat. He is a music baby! Its kinda interesting to compare Ronan’s reactions to the music with children from other church’s I have been to (stateside, not overseas). Ronan, even though he is small and very young, is surrounded by Gods love and it is neat to watch him in this setting.

After church services, I was talking to Victoria about how much Ronan likes the drums. I told her about how he likes to listen to the pots and pans at home. So she took us up on stage and we let Ryan play the drums for Ronan. Ronan sat on daddy’s lap and was very interested and excited about the drums! I wish I had my camera…I did, just left the battery at home. Maybe next week I’ll bring BOTH to church so I can get a few pictures.

Ronan is so excited, his Nonna and Grandpa Chuckles are coming in a few days. They will be here from Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. I think the plan is after church, we’ll go to lunch and then say goodbye. I’ll definitely have to remember to bring my camera so I can take pictures of Ronan with his grandparents on Sunday. Maybe he can get a second try at playing the drums for them!

We came home and Ronan was showing possible signs of teething. He won’t sleep for more than a few minutes, is drooling and chewing on things a lot, is kinda cranky, and just doesn’t seem like himself. He doesn’t have a fever but he is sneezing and coughing. When he was drinking his bottle tonight (as fast as ever!) he was getting more on his outfit than in his tummy. Maybe he can’t breathe, and that’s why he isn’t swallowing all of it? I’m not really sure.
