Roaming Turkeys, Daring Sword Fights, and the Wild Dog Chase.
What a day. Yes. What A day.
This morning Ronan wanted mama. But apparently a lot of the babies around his age are having separation anxiety. I’m just thankful he isn’t getting anxious six-seven times in the middle of the night, like one of his friends. He did have fun playing with Daddy’s sword again. My little wandering samuri (reference to his name and movie with a different spelling of his name). But what morning would be complete with out seeing a bunch of wild turkeys outside? I mean right outside our side door on our patio! Needless to say I got some great pics.
This afternoon we were out for a while with Vicky and her daughters. We were door knocking on all the really new people and the people we door knocked to before that. We gave out invitations and flyers (depending on what newcomer group they were in) hoping they’ll come to this neighbourhood orientation-meet-people thing. We met a lot of new people. I actually invited two of them to my upcoming spa party.
When we got home I wanted to go next door and invite, Katie, our neighbour. But, Esusa darted out and ran down the street. Every time I took a step towards here she ran further away. Here I am running down the street with a lash in one hand and Ronan in the other and on my hip, chasing this husky down the street. I only made it Vicky’s house and rang her door bell. As I was telling her what happend and she took Ronan, guess who appeared? Yes, you’ve answered the million dollar question. Esusa. Apparently this was all a game to her. When she noticed I wasn’t chasing her, she went back to find me. I got her, put the leash on her, said goodbye (again) to Vicky, and walked back to the house.
We got home and gave out the invite just in time to leave for swim lessons. I did an okay job parallel parking in the only spot available. I changed Ronan and my clothes in a record breaking five minutes just in time for our starfish swim class.
Ronan had a ball today….but was a little tired so he didn’t try to swim as much. He did swim to our swim instructor and had fun kicking the water on me when he was sitting on the edge of the pool. He tried to do the water rasberry just once. That was cute.
I forgot to bring an extra diaper so he went commando on the way home. Daddy changed him as soon as we got home and that was good because his pants were wet. I felt really bad because I knew he was uncomfortable and now I have to clean his carseat…but maybe not if it wasn’t that bad.
Now I’m realizing I’m just typing as fast as I can before Ryan tells me he needs the computer. So I’ll go. Ronan has just stopped talking and I think has fallen asleep. All I can hear from his room is the classical baby cd playing. Sleep well little guy.
ps. Grandparents, note: Ronan needs new shoes.
