Wow…it is already August first! The past five months since Ryan went to the USAF recruiter’s office (or since January when he decided to join) have gone by so fast! Speaking of time going by fast….tommrow is our second year wedding anniversary. Its hard to believe a year from today Ryan and I were in Thailand and I was pregnant with Ronan. I know we will be here in Monterey a year from today, but I wonder where we will be two years from now? Only God knows. I find comfort and assurance in that firm truth. It has really been amazing to look back on our lives and see how God got us to where we are now. It seemed we were headed many different directions that often changed monthly. One month we thought we were going to Italy, a few months down the road we were headed to Thailand. If you told us a year ago that we would be in Monterey while Ryan trains to be a linguist for the USAF, we would probably not believe you. But it is amazing to see how with each direction we took, it was an important jumping stone to the HERE and NOW. God is amazing. Though we cannot see the whole picture, we are finally content in knowing HE does and will use us.
Well I noticed today that Ronan DID get sunburned. His arms are pretty pink, hot to the touch, and when you let go it turns white. Luckily it isn’t too bad and he doesn’t seem affected by it. When we left the house yesterday to go to the concert, it was cold and very foggy. We drive the 12 minutes (or so) to presidio and all of a sudden its bright, clear, and hot.
Ronan and I slept in this morning. Ryan and Eric left at 0500 and then I think Ryan came back for a few minutes afterwards. The verizon guy came today and helped us get online so now we have a really fast connection. I was able to rearrange the coffeetables and unpack a little today. We went out with Ryan to a nice resturant for dinner. Ryan is helping Ronan eat from his bottle…though most of it is getting on daddy then in his tummy. I don’t think he is swallowing it. Is it more fun to just let it run down your face, RoRo?
