Wow…what a day! We signed Eric on base and we went to the free christian concert on Persidio. Bethany Dillon, BarlowGirl, and Cademon’s Call played. They were all really good and we went home with their cds. They also had a monkey brigade from the Klove station that shot stuffed monkey toys out of a cannon through out the whole show. They gave away 400 monkeys…enough for every child (and baby!) there. It was a beautiful day out too. It was perfectly clear and very warm out! Except for Ronan, we all got a little sunburned. Ronan did really well out today and wasn’t upset at all. He really liked the music and even caught a nap in.
When we were standing in line to get our picture taken with BarlowGirl, it turned 1700 and the Retreat played as they lowered the flag. It was really interesting to pick out the different people in the crowd as this took place. Anyone who was a visitor to the base stood out pretty well, since everyone else immediatly stopped what they were doing and turned towards the direction of the US flag. The band and those taking photos with them were still talking and such, before they caught on what was happening. Then you can tell the difference between those who are serving in the military and those who are family members. I’m standing with my hip cocked to one side as I hold Ronan and the stuffed monkey. Ryan and other servicemen and women are standing at attention with their hands in fists by their sides. Anyways…it was just interesting to me. Just things like this that I have noticed since being taken back into the military family.
Ronan took another bottle of formula tonight by Eric. If it isn’t warm enough for him, he just plays with it. So I had to reheat it again for him. I really want him to keep on (or start again) eating food. I have a small food processor to blend foods I make and have baby food in the cabinet. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions on how to introduce or feed food to Ronan. Please help! I have been stuggling. He used to love bananas and cantelope, but now the only thing I’ve gotten him to eat (well suck on really) are pickles and bread.
Tommrow Ryan has to leave at 0500 to drop of Eric. So I guess I am going w/out the car again tommrow. We are looking into getting a bigger car soon. The one we have now (with Ronan’s new carseat taking up most of the room in the back seat) is not working out. You’ve heard my venting about going up hills. Well it cant hold Ronan’s stroller and really doesn’t have that much room for anything. So we are still looking, but hopefully God will lead us to something. I saw a $800 female bulldog for sale in the car shopper magazine. We are not getting one now…but I would love to have one someday!
Hope everyone else had a blessed weekend! May God guide you this week!
