Door Knocking

Ronan went to sleep pretty early last night so he was up pretty early this morning. Needless to say we didn’t make it to the morning walk. We didn’t make it to the 1000 playgroup either. But we were outside. We were with the mayor of our neighbourhood (im the vice mayor if you haven’t heard) walking around and meeting the 24 new families that have moved in during the last month. We past out invitations to a neighbourhood informational meeting that we are having later this month. It will be a great way for them to find out about the community and hear about all the things that are available to them. We did a lot of walking to get to all the houses on the different streets. Ronan was sitting in this backpack carrier I got at the last yard sale. He dropped his bottle three times and somehow cut his lip on something. I looked at him and wondered where the blood was coming from. He ended up getting to heavy to be up there, the weight was really bearing down on my shoulders, so I had to carry the heavy guy the rest of the way. We came home and he got a fresh new bottle for his empty tummy. At 1200 we were at a new playgroup called Parent’s Time. It is for infant through crawling (once they can walk they move up to a toddler’s class). All the mummies sit in a circle on the floor with their babies. We talked, sang songs, learned about today’s lesson: brain development and sign language, played a game with a rainbow coloured parachute, and let the babies play with toys and interact with eachother. Ronan had a blast! He loved the songs and thought many of them were funny. He talked and looked at the other babies. His favourite part by far was laying on the ground under the parachute that us mums held over them. We brought it up and down and even made it sound like it was raining! Ronan loved it! I got a little worried because a lot of the babies are around his age (whether a little younger, older, or his age) and they were scooting and crawling easily. Ronan hasn’t done either of it yet. He lays on his tummy and kicks, lays on his back, and can roll over and reach for things. I know I shouldn’t worry about it too much, but I hope he learns how to do it soon. Afterwards we went to the FCC to find out about home daycare for Ronan. The woman, Amanda, who works there is British. She was helping another couple when I got there, and the wife was a Brit too! So the three of us started talking about England, the citizenships, and the different bases there. It was awesome! Ronan played with the other little boy there and they learned how to share. It was so cute! Both of the other women were really fond of Ronan. We got some contact information and left. Ronan watched his movie while I made a lot of phone calls to daycare providers, beauty schools, and was on hold with CA’s State Board of Cosmetology for a very long time!
