Favorite Travel Partner and Trip

Hi readers and Happy Travel Tuesday! First, a big congrats to the US Women’s Soccer Team for bringing home the World Cup! I’m Christine and I blog over at A Keane Sense of Adventure (http://www.akeanesenseofadventure.com/). I was born and raised in Texas and I blog about travel, photography and some lifestyle mixed in, so hop on over and say hi.
 
For this month’s prompt, I picked “Who is Your Favorite Travel Partner and What is Your Favorite Trip with that Person?” While I would love to take a solo trip one of these days, I enjoy sharing my travel experiences with my friends and family. There’s something about reminiscing about a past trip with someone and having one of those “Remember when…” conversations.
 
My favorite travel partner is my husband, Jimmy. We have been married for over 11 years and after all these years, we still have the most fun when we are together. When it comes to traveling, we have similar interests… we both love being active, being outdoors and we both love a little adventure. I love knowing that I can suggest going on a hike or SUPing and Jimmy’s game (and vice versa unless it involves crazy heights!).

My favorite trip together would have to be the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. We both have a love for sports so getting to see one of the biggest sporting events in the world was an awesome experience for us. We got a chance to watch some beach volleyball plus see the Brazilian men’s soccer team in action which was incredible. We would love to head down to Rio in 2016 or maybe attend a World Cup one day. We shall see!

  In the future, I’m hoping to have our son join us on more trips! He just turned 10 and recently started asking us about going over to Europe the next time we go. I’m excited that he’s showing an interest in traveling and that he also loves a little adventure! Nothing makes me happier than when my family is together!

      The Olympics was so much fun! Everyone was cheering for their country, it was awesome! Definitely an experience I will never forget!

    I didn’t write about my favorite travel partner this week because I didn’t have time, but I’d definitely say it’s my husband, too. He finds joy in the little things and can always find something to be excited about, whether it’s an exotic location or a local park. Traveling is so fun with him because he notices things I never would! :)

      I totally agree! I love that my husband can suggest things that I normally wouldn’t think of but I would totally like since we have similar interests! Double the fun :)

    That’s so sweet that your husband is your favorite travel partner and mighty convenient, too. I actually haven’t traveled much with anyone other than family. So, I’d rank my husband at the top of the list, too. It really helps to have similar interest.

      It definitely helps! I love going on girl trips but it’s not the same. With my husband, I know I can suggest something and he would be down… where as my friends might not be into it.

    It works out well when our significant others are our favorite travel buds! (it might be why we picked them in the first place!) and I love that you are a sports fan…so am I! :-)

      We love sports! And I love it even more when we can travel and watch sports… two birds, one stone! I love going on trips with my friends but it’s definitely not the same. :)

      Disney World was so much fun! I just read an article saying you burn as much calories during 1 day at Disney World as running a 10K! Good thing we were there for 4 days 😛
