Aunt Madeline and Baby Ronan cuddle on the couch. Posted by Picasa

The maid of honor from my wedding, Madeline, and her friend Gina came to stay with us tonight. It was so good to see Madeline. We usually go to Disneyland every new years to see her at work. Since Ronan was due in January we were not able to go this past January. It was really neat for Madeline and Ronan to meet eachother!

We had dinner at a chinese resturant downtown. The food was delicious! Now read slowly, as I tell you the funny event of the evening. We are sitting at a booth and Ronan is sitting on his daddy’s lap facing the girls. He spots a piece of noodle on the table and in one try grabs it with his fingers. He puts it right into his mouth with out a problem. Immediatly he grabs a nearby napkin and “dabs his mouth” like a polite little boy. NO LIE! The four of us just errupted with laughter….it was the funniest thing Ronan has done. I’m sure the whole resturant was wondering what had happened! Ronan then decides the napkin looks tasty as well and starts to eat it.

Three Ring Flea Circus Pt. 2

Ronan is slowly tiring down and going to sleep in his bedroom as the baby lullaby cd plays. Ryan is in the kitchen getting me my chocolate fix (mocha-biscotti ice cream over chocolate cookies with chocolate chips and reeses chocolate syrup on top). I am finally getting to the blog as I find comfort in the fact that our house is clean. The kitchen is clean: Floor has been mopped, dishes all put away, and counters clean. I even set out some traps for the ants. The living room and dining room are vacuumed and aside from boxes and some things on a coffee table, everything is in its place. The hallway is free of clutter and I moped the wooden floor. It feels so nice to have a clean house. When its clean I am fine. When it is messy it drives me insane. Yes, our bedroom has laundry all over the floor and the office is a temporary storage room until we get some needed furniture. But our house at least looks like a home. Which makes me very happy.

This morning Ronan and I went to a playgroup at the ACS. It was a small turn out and Ronan was the youngest one there. I also found out about daycare and did a huge commissary run. I got a lot of cleaning supplies (hence the cleaning mood I have been in today!). I also broke down and called the housing office directly and asked to speak to a manager. They made it seem like the only manager available was going to be busy for quite a while. I plainly told them that they could put me on hold. Needless to say two minutes (or less) later, someone picked up on the other end. I called back two hours later to check up on the progress. Apparently they are waiting on the pest control people to call them back, before they call us back. I have a feeling it could be a week before we see any action on their part. Ryan is thinking we should buy our own bug bomb and do it on Sunday while we are out. We’ll see what happens.

Basically Ronan has been extra cute these past few days. I keep thinking how special he is and how wonderful it is to be his Mummy! No photos on this blog could represent that.

(We live in a) Three Ring Flea Circus!

Come one, come all! Come old, come small! This is the three ring flea circus in the family room of the Aherin house! Apparently, the people who lived here before us had a dog. Not only did he leave lots of bones in the backyard, but he left his little friends in our carpet. They are biting us and jumping everywhere! We’ve found a flea on Ronan four times now! It looks like he has flea bites on him too. This is making us very upset, to say the least. We have called matience several times and asked to have someone take care of this problem. So far no one has come out.

Making Music

What is my favourite thing in the world to do? Laugh hysterically with my son, Ronan. I picked out a few pots and bottles and placed them on the kitchen counter. I then took a spatula and started playing them. Ronan thought this was the funniest thing he has ever seen. He wasn’t just giggling…he was laughing really hard. This made me laugh with him. The harder he laughed, the harder I laughed. He did this yesterday when I was putting the dishes away. I was holding him with one arm and holding the dishes with my other arm. Everytime I put something away, he would laugh. It really amazed me! Who knew doing the dishes, could be fun!
