Pompeii: The Lighter Side [Travel Tuesdays]

If you caught last week’s Pompeii post, The Darker Side, today is the continuation post of Pompeii, the Lighter Side.  If you have not heard my personal connection with Pompeii and the area around Naples, make sure to check out last week’s post for Travel Tuesdays.  I really enjoyed Pompeii and took hundreds of photographs.  So it has been hard to pick out the favourites to share with you on the blog.  I just cannot wait to return again with my sons so that they can experience the history left behind.
Q: Have you ever been to Pompeii?

I think it’s great how you decided these both sides of Pompeii – such a creative idea and the pictures are beautiful! :)

Thank you Laura…it was such a great place to photograph, and its awesome to look at a place with two different visions. :) I hope you get to go back to Italy soon! x ps. take me with you 😉

Thank you for loving this take on it. I felt it was going in a bipolar direction when I began so it was nice to break it up and showcase it this way. x

Thank you Laura, I hope you get to go. It is so big and so much to see! Make sure you also go to see Herculaneum too.

ARGH! All of you travelers make me sick (in a good way). Living vicariously through all of you right now – those are some pretty amazing places :-)

The light there looks so clear. Is it all like that – a mass of ruins?

I’ve never been but now I definitely want to! i love all of your photos, Bonnie! <3

Bonnie, your photos are absolutely stunning! Pompeii is such a cool place and I love your detail shots. Thanks for hosting Travel Tuesday!

Yes. You should also go check out Herculaneum. Its a little different as the debris that covered it was not as light as the ash that covered pompeii. Its much smaller, but since it was so well preserved it looks more like what it might have looked back in the day.

YES!!! I want to do a big Italy trip at some point where I just visit a lot of beautiful places like that, eat tons of fantastic food, and just have the time of my life. I don’t want to do it on a backpacker’s budget, either, so that might have to be a few years down the road…
