Vow Renewal: Portmeirion, Wales

PortmeiriontitleIt is Travel Tuesday and we continue Love Week here at A Compass Rose.  Today I take you to the coastal resort of Portmeirion.  This is where we had our ceremony for our 10th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewal in Wales.  It is a really beautiful town that has a very Italian look to it as it is nestled in the woods and on the coast of the Welsh ocean.  The colours are beautiful and it was a perfect place to renew our vows. Vow Renewal: Getting Ready

MPP B&R Vow Renewal6

Welcome to Love Week at A Compass Rose.  If you will remember Love Week in 2013 fell over the week of our 10th Wedding Anniversary.  I just got back all the photographs this month from our photographer, Miriam, and wanted to share it with you this Valentines Day week.  I have so been looking forward to recapping over all the details of the big event.  The last recap I did was back in November with some sneak peek photographs of Ryan getting ready in his suit in Vow Renewal: The Groom.  Today I share the images from when I was getting dressed.

What to Wear on a Country Walk – Winter 13/14

Country Walk EnglandWe have nine more weeks of Winter and that has not stopped us from going on country walks around our area of Bath, England.  However the shorts, sleeveless shirts, and trainers of our summer attire have had to be replaced by our winter wardrobe. When you are in England I always recommend double checking the weather right before you head out.  Check the temperature, the wind, and if rain or snow might be a factor.  Next, it is always good to plan your route before hand to give yourself a good time reference for how long you will be out.  With your information gathered you can than gauge how to dress appropriately for your country walk.  Remember just because you are going for a country walk, does not mean you have to dress frumpy. There are so many fashionable looks from Peter Hahn you can put together for your country walks from practical footwear to appropriate coats.

Live More Simply

This week I have some extra goodies to share with you across the blog-o-sphere. First up is a guest post with my fellow TCK, Third Culture Kid, Casey over at the True Colours blog with Life in the UK. For her travel segment I wanted to share more about Bonfire Night and specifically with my experience in the town of Lewes. Lewes has the largest Bonfire night with several bonfire societies and legendary firework displays! It is a photo heavy post to transport you right to the main event.

uk guest blogger weekNext is a guest post with my November sponsor, Kim, over at A Moving Story blog. Here you can read my Reflections of Gratitude: Living Simply. I share my personal story as an ex-pat with 5 simple steps to live life more simply.  I would love to know how you could implement the five steps into your own life towards happiness and a life of contentment.  Do let me know in the comments.

Thank You & An Update

Cupcakes_ACR

Thank you so much for all the wonderful birthday wishes that you sent to me through the blog, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. You are so sweet and I greatly appreciate all your kind words on my birthday.

Status Update:
My laptop is currently not working at the moment. I should have it back to running order in a few days. Luckily I can still make posts on my blog via my husband’s laptop. However since my husband uses Linux and all of my programmes and fonts are over on my computer you may see a little less sparkle on the blog. Also since the laptop I am using has overheating problems I cannot be on it very long. Will be responding to comments, emails, and everything once I have my laptop working once more later this week. Thank you so much for your patience.

Ps. Travel Tuesday will still be running tomorrow.

Cheers,
B.
