First day of March

One thing I really love about my new phone is that it came with a few soothing alarm tones.  When I awoke to the alarm clock this morning I got it into my head instantly that we were quite late.  The boys and I had fifteen minutes to get ready and leave the house.  But when we got to an empty school after our 30 minute walk, I realized we were indeed an hour early.  Apparently I was too tired this morning to read my clock correctly.  The picture to the left is from the honey selection at the store we browsed this morning.
Spending our extra time before school having a juice and a smoothie.
Beautiful pink flowers that we saw on the walk home from school.
Spoiled my boys after school with treats. I have a soft spot for those cute little faces.

New Phone

I love Apples.  They are juicy, sweet, and tart.  I also love my macbook pro, my ipod, and my iPhone.  But I had an iPhone 3Gs and I did not like the camera on the phone.  To add to that it has been slowly dying on me.  It had cracked screen for about six months before I got the screen replaced and the off button that had fallen out made it impossible to turn off or on.  So when my iPhone decided that it would not connect to my sim card anymore, I knew it was time to say ‘rest in peace’.  I really wanted to get an iPhone 4 and I knew that the iPhone 5 would be coming out sometime in the future.  Unfortunately time and money are not on my side.  So i was swayed to the dark side and instead of getting an iPhone 4s, I went with a droid by Samsung.  Right away I had to start customizing it and downloading my favourite apps.  To which I have to say a lot of things seem to be ‘free’ compared to the iPhone.  There are a few iPhone only apps that I really miss, but I think with time I will be able to grow past that.  I do however love that my new phone has an amazing battery life.   I love the large clear and bright screen. Well it may be a bit too bright.  I honestly have it on the lowest light setting it can go and unless I am outside in the sunlight it is easily to be seen. The email functions I have to say are my favourite and apparently this borrowed over from the Blackberry system.  The camera. Yes. It is amazing. It has the front facing camera for Skype chats and a flash which my iPhone did not.  I do have to say I am having to get used to taking photos with it.  With all that said its still a new phone and I’m still trying to get used to it. Who knows…I may go back to an iPhone some day and I’m definitely not leaving my macbook pro anytime soon!

Starbucks

Starbucks.
I used to go to Starbucks all the time.  More so when I lived in Hawaii and basically because it was the main meeting place for me and my best friends.  To be fair in Hawaii there is practically a Starbucks (nestled next to a Jamba Juice) on almost every street corner.  I am exaggerating (slightly) but there are enough of them on the island that you have to be quite specific when determining which Starbucks you are meeting someone at so that you show up at the right place.  I had pretty much two drinks at Starbucks.  If it was cold I would get Hot Chocolate.  Forget tea…I can never get anyone in the USA to make a proper cup to enjoy it enough to warrant the $ of buying one. If it was hot out I really liked ordering either an iced green tea with strawberry puree and one splenda in replace of the sweetener or a tall iced black tea with no water (so it was strong) and two splenda.  It would be a very rare occasion that I ever ordered anything with coffee in it because after growing up in Italia, Starbucks expresso is pretty burnt and revolting.  Its not the ‘real’ stuff.  When I moved to England I was introduced to a new chain called Costa and if I need to order a hot drink when I am out, that is my first choice to go to.  The whip creme that they put on hot cocoa has marshmallows in it and it is divine.  But definitely trying to stick to mostly hot green tea with nothing added to it or a typical English tea, white.
One of my friends from Hawaii, who now lives on the mainland, was asking about the regional mugs from Starbucks.
I found the England versions this morning at the Starbucks in our grocery store and took a photo.  (£6.75)
Kinda wish I had gotten an awesome mug from Hawaii now. :(
