Snow Day!

After going to bed knowing there would be much more snow on the ground, we were all quite excited to wake up and play in it.  The boys and I got dressed for the snow and then headed out to get breakfast on the way and a sledge (a sled in the US).  We went to the football park nestled in the middle of the town where there were quite a bit of inclines perfect for sledging.  We   had fun also making snowman, throwing snowballs, and making snow angels.  Ryan came and met us after work and by the time we went back home we had been in the snow for three hours!  I love being in the snow and I was pleasantly surprised to find the snow was so perfect for so many snowy activities.  The boys were very eager to get some hot cocoa back on the way home and talk about all the fun they had in the snow.  It was a great way to finish up the weekend.

The boys once we got to the park.

Its Snowing!

So excited to look outside the window while getting the boys ready for bed.  I had only bed home for a couple of hours from work and the world was already covered with a blanket of snow! The boys could not wait to go sneak a peek outside.  We are so excited that tomorrow is Sunday so we can go outside and have a snow day!

It is Snowing!
Maddox was quite excited!

Cold and Rainy

It has been very cold and rainy in England recently.  I go outside in so many layers. There have been some mornings where I will wear two or three pairs of tights, knee high socks or leg warmers, boots, and my warmer pair of dress slacks on top for just the bottom half of my body.  No joke. After living in Hawaii I am a wimp with this weather. Which is crazy when I remember being a little girl growing up in Norfolk, England wearing shorts in the cold weather.

This morning it was quite hard to get out of bed.  The covers were warm and looking outside it was wet and cold.  Brrrr….

They joke that the English talk a lot about the weather.  I did not get it until I found myself checking my weather app constantly.  I not only look at the weather here, but the warm weather temperatures else where in the world.  Heres to hoping for rainbows.

Sweet stuff

I will admit that I love to do special things for my boys and spoil them when I can.  So with Ryan gone and a bad sweet tooth myself, we had breakfast at Starbucks before school.  Starbucks is the only place on the way to school since we walk and do not have a car.  I let each of my sons choose what they wanted, within reason, and had hot cocoa to warm up from the cold.  When I picked them up after school we decided we would have takeaway as a special treat for dinner.  It is pretty much just curry or chinse, though there is a ‘Chippy’ (Fish & Chips joint) a little further away.  We opted for Chinese and brought it home to eat.  The boys love getting Lemon chicken and fried rice with egg.  I chose the spiciest option, but sadly not as spicy as I would like.

Indiana Jones Birthday Party

Today was the much awaited birthday party for my newly seven year old, Ronan.  He loves Indiana Jones. We went to a leisure centre for his birthday party and all the kids got to play in the  soft play area which had two stories.  Afterwards we had an english tea with a lot of canapes and treats.  At the parties in England you light the cake, but send pieces home instead with the guests. You also do not open presents until you get home.  The boys had a great time!

Time for food and treats!
